March 2, 2009

I'm so sorry I have been horrible about keeping Trev's blog up to date. But I will be better. I got a letter from Elder Schroeder last night & was SO happy to hear from him!
He said he had 2 baptisms coming up! One on March 7th & one on March 14th (the day Ty & I are getting sealed)!!! I had told him before anyone else that we were going through the temple. To all the others it caught them by surprise. He is so happy for us & said he wished he could be there but I know he's where he needs to be. But he of course will be greatly missed!
He said the weather has been great there in Jacksonville & he's loving it. It rained a couple of times this last week. The locals there have been telling him that they usually get rain everyday until September. He's really excited about that kind of weather. And he's sure that there will be some sort of hurricane that hits there & thinks it'll be pretty sweet. Which I'm sorry Trevor but I'm gonna hope differently. I hope that there's no kind of natural disaster there.
He said he's doing well & his time there seems to be flying by. Only twenty more fast sundays to go as Elder Schroeder would have it!!!

HAVING FAITH IN CHRIST BRINGS MIRACLES...

I recently wrote Trevor a letter, and in that letter I had told him about one of our friends that passed away. I had mentioned to him how grateful I was to have the gospel in my life. How comforting it is to know that we will see our loved ones again and that God has a great plan for us. The thought of not having the gospel in my life and losing a loved one must be a horrible feeling... The following is part of his response to my letter:

"Its kinda crazy you brought that up cuz I have thought alot about that this last week. We run into so many people that don't even know who god or our savior is. It breaks my heart, and a couple of the people we are teaching have just recently had loved ones passed away within the last week. It's so hard to teach people the plan that our heavenly father has for us but yet I'm so grateful for the opportunity to teach them this. It's sad to me that most of the people here have hardened hearts. They slam the door on us, curse and throw stuff at us. I guess I just don't understand, but having faith in Christ brings miracles."

I am so grateful for Elder Schroeder and all the other missionaries out in the mission field. Who are serving the Lord and sharing the gospel with others. Elder Schroeder could not have said it any better ... "HAVING FAITH IN CHRIST BRINGS MIRACLES"

**Elder Schroeder's first baptism will be Saturday, January 11.**

7 new missionaries to the Jacksonville Florida Mission Back Row: Elders Call, Price & Spencer
Front Row: Elders Kohler, Schroeder, Hill & Cundick

Trevor and his new companion Elder Brunt.

It seems these two Elders were chased away with shotguns....but Trevor with his awsome attitude takes it in stride.

This is his motto:

Faith in every footstep

Love at every door

Prayer before every performance.
